Jess was delightful; she gave just enough instructions and mostly allowed us just to be ourselves. Our daughter is normally shy with strangers, but Jess' warm personality helped her open up and enjoy the experience.

Kids tend to feed off adults, so if you're relaxed, they will be. We will just go with the flow, let them lead, and moments will present themselves. I recommend you bring snacks, a water bottle and even some favourite toys if your child needs a break. My biggest recommendation is for you to play with your kids and interact with them in the ways you normally do and the smiles will come naturally.
A session typically lasts about 60-90 minutes, but if there’s a wardrobe malfunction or a meltdown, we’ll be ok. I am totally flexible and will stay until I know I’ve got a ridiculously good selection of images for you. It's best to make sure you're not in a hurry either so make sure you add some buffer time before and after your session.
I have a detailed Prep Guide which talks through and gives ideas on how to style the whole family for your session, but the most important thing is that you are comfortable and that you feel like yourselves! I am also always here to chat through your options if that works better for you.
Your animal babies are family too and 100% welcome to join if we're using a pet friendly location! I don't, however, guarantee any specific shots (you know what they say about working with animals). You can invite grandparents and other members of your extended family to your session for a small cost. We'll chat about how this will work when we plan your session.
Sometimes! What I love most is capturing families in places and spaces that mean the most to them, usually this is the family home, but every now and then it's somewhere special outdoors, like a park, a beach, or even a creek that's an integral part of their story. Please note an additional fee applies for outdoor locations.
No problem! Every home is perfect to me. I can move clutter and I may even move furniture. We will work together to make the best of the space you have. So long as you have a window or a door we can make beautiful photos.
